I get that. But you have to understand - someone who’s not in the right mental space, the LAST thing they want to do in a state of exhaustion is try to put in even more effort immediately to do a million things to get better.

It’s like asking someone with a fractured leg to get to the hospital ASAP on his/her own.

In my opinion, accountability is a better word here. Being accountable for your Mental health and putting in the effort to get better (or not) is reasonable. Preaching to someone that you HAVE to do whatever it takes to get better on the other hand, that’s often the last thing that the person needs.
