My parents still downplay and even joke about what happened. Sounds cruel but it's unfortunately normal in Indian culture to play this stuff off and even point fingers towards the victim. Especially if you're a man.

But yeah what I'm learning from that is that closure or moving on has to be done internally regardless of what anyone else says or does. Nobody has to believe you or accept what happened to you in order for you to begin healing.

At least that's what I tell myself. I hope this helps, and I'm sorry for what happened to you.
