You're right Carmen, people do change. And I hope to god that my people change too, but I don't want to keep waiting for that to happen because I've been waiting for a long time now to no avail. So I need to stop expecting that and move on with my life. 'Cutting ties' was probably too strong of a word though, leaving a small window open for reconciliation definitely sounds like a better option here.
